Mambo

Latin American Dance

Mambo came to life as a result of blending jazz & Caribbean rhythms. Though it was played already in the 30’s, only in late 40’s it was popularized by Perez Prado as Mambo. This very energetic and upbeat music was sure to get popular with the people on the dance floor. The dance very soon gave birth to another style of dance – triple Mambo, now known as Cha Cha as well as for Salsa.
Contemporary Mambo is one of the 5 dances of American Rhythm competitive program.
