Bolero

Latin American Dance

Bolero is a slow, graceful and romantic dance, part of the American Rhythm competitive program. It is often called the Cuban Dance of Love, although it was originally a Spanish dance with Moroccan roots. Contemporary bolero is generally paired with smoother, dreamy music with Spanish vocal and soft percussion. The dance successfully blends elements of waltz, Tango and Rumba. It has similar footwork and timing as the Rumba, but incorporates a characteristic rise and fall similar to waltz.
