Samba

Latin American Dance

Samba is a Brazilian dance and music genre. Brazilian Samba is performed at the Carnival in Rio. The Ballroom Samba we are talking about is a partner dance and, more than other ballroom dances, very disconnected from the origins of the music and dance that gave it its name.
Ballroom Samba is one of the five International Latin dances, performed at the competitions all over the world. It is very lively and energetic, with lots of bouncing action in the knees and sexy hip motions. Samba music has layers of rhythms, which are quite complex and challenging; the better the dancers are the more rhythms they can show in their routines.
